The contact owns a 2023 Nissan Titan XD. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle came to an abrupt stop and then lunged forward independently. Additionally, the contact stated that the transmission inadvertently downshifted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure recurred. I AM REPORTING A DEFECT WITH THE SPEEDOMETER OF MY 1990 NISSAN PICKUP. I FOUND THAT DUE TO AGE THAT THE SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE DROOPS DOWN TOWARD THE FACE /DIAL OF THE SPEEDOMETER AND STARTED RUBBING. IT MADE CONTACT AND STOPPED INDICATING AT APPROX. 45 MPH THE FIRST TIME. THIS GOT MY SON A TICKET. I DIDN'T BELIEVE HIM WHEN HE TOLD ME HE WASN'T SPEEDING UNTIL I GOT A TICKET.
